Applies to PA-34-200 aircraft, Serial Numbers 34-E4 and 34-7250001 and up equipped with exhaust systems Piper P/N 96465-00 and 96466-00

Compliance required every 25 hours time in service.

Inspect the entire exhaust system for any evidence of cracks, failed ducts or flanges. Use 4X magnifying glass and 100 watt light. Replace or repair affected parts.


AD 83-14-05

Applies to PA-34-200 (S/N 34-7350343 through 34-7450220 & 34-7250001 through 34-7350342) airplanes that have exhaust systems installed in accordance with Piper Service Letter No. 673 and Piper Kit 760-764V

Drill a .50'' diameter hole in the center tip of the cone shaped deflector to facilitate a Boroscope inspection through the .50 inch hole. If there are cracks or buckles in the baffle tube assembly, replace the heat exchanger/tailpipe assembly. The replacement assembly may accumulate 1,000 hours time in service before complying with the initial and 100 hour repetitive inspections.
